New Dimensions’ IOP for OCD Can Help!

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can be debilitating.  People with OCD can get caught in an endless loop of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.  For most people, the underlying driver of these thoughts and behaviors is anxiety.  The compulsive behaviors are often an attempt to decrease the anxiety that comes with the obsessive thoughts which are often driven by the worries that come with that same anxiety.  Fortunately, therapy can help you learn to manage your anxiety and get control over your OCD.  For most people, individual therapy, medication, or a combination of both can help alleviate the symptoms of OCD.  There are times, however, where you may need more help.  This is where an IOP for OCD helps.

An IOP for OCD is often helpful when:
  • Weekly individual therapy is not enough.
  • Your OCD is not getting better.
  • You need more intensive treatment.
  • You need more support.
  • You need more active medication management.
  • You are beginning to have panic attacks or severe anxiety.
  • You are struggling with suicidal thoughts.
  • You are having difficulty functioning at work, home, or school.
What to Expect

The IOP for OCD at New Dimensions is 5 days per week for approximately 3 hours per day.  The program is designed to help you work through the underlying causes of the OCD and then learn the tools you need to develop a healthier happier life.  On average, most individuals attend the program for about 30 days, but this may vary based on your individual circumstances.  While in the program, you will work with both therapists and a psychiatrist.
